If
your organization is like most we encounter,
you’re seeking a learning partner that can
deliver the four key components of workforce
learning:
- Customization
- Quality
- Development time
- Cost
Look no further. MindCrossings understands.
One of the ways we deliver learning that
meets your business goals is to work with
you early in the design phase to visualize
the final product. In this way, we develop
learning with IMPACT.
: Our
Unique Six-Phase Development Methodology
To identify the type of learning that will
best fit your needs, MindCrossings begins
with four critical components. Understanding
each is fundamental to ensuring success.
- Business Goals - We create a solution
that meets your current training needs, and
can flex to meet future requirements.
- Audience Analysis - We consider the
demographics, diverse learning styles, and
role or experience level of the learners in
order to build a targeted learning
experience.
- Learning Objectives - Our objectives
provide the ability to measure learning
results accurately, which is critical to
analyzing the impact.
- Technical Deployment - We understand
specific technical considerations, or
Learning Management Systems (LMS)
integration, AICC/SCORM compliance
standards, as well as bandwidth to ensure
solutions perform at an optimal level.
Proven adult learning principles
guide MindCrossings’ instructional designers
in mapping your needs to the learning
solution:
- Learners can only consume logically
organized information. Small bits of content
are crucial to effective learning.
- Every learner has a learning style. To
engage each learner, our training maps to
each learning style (Visual, Auditory and
Kinesthetic).
- Learners must be able to apply what they
learn to their job responsibilities.
Scenario-based role playing and exercises,
interactions, and simulations ensure
learning is transferred to the job.
- Learners must be motivated to learn.
Creative design that provides a self-paced
experience and feedback is critical to
guiding a learner through the learning
experience.
The prototype provides a “preview” of a
select lesson of the course. This ensures
that our designers have correctly
incorporated the information obtained in
existing documentation and materials, as
well as information received by client
subject matter experts (SMEs), into logical,
coherent and effective lessons. The
prototype will show:
- How your content is organized and
presented on the screen (eLearning user
interface) or page (classroom student
manual).
- How to use the learning (eLearning
navigation help page or demo) or instructor
guide (classroom instructor notes).
- Clickable buttons (eLearning) or visual
icons (classroom) used to advance through
the course.
- Additional components, as defined by the
project. For example, the prototype may
include samples of demonstrations,
exercises, or assessment questions.
Your Authentication of the design provides
assurance that the training solution is
being developed to match the identified
needs. You review the prototype and give
feedback on all design components before
production of the course begins. Depending
upon the project, you will authenticate
design components such as:
- User interface (eLearning) or page
layout (classroom)
- Branding and formatting
- Buttons and icons
- Animations, photography, and other
graphics
- Video or audio
- Practice exercises, demonstrations, or
simulations
- Assessment questions and feedback
The MindCrossings’ platform allows libraries
of standard elements to serve as the
foundation for many of our interactive
learning solutions. While all of our
solutions are completely customized and
unique in terms of content and creativity,
we can leverage universal elements to
minimize client investment, while maximizing
the quality of each learning solution.
Our talented developers construct
education materials by carefully blending
the flow of audio, animation, and
interaction according to the instructional
design. The success of this careful balance
is critical, as too much media will not
technically perform to users’ expectations
and too little media will result in a
disappointing, page-turning experience.
Testing and evaluating results are key to
any learning initiative. As our needs
identification process indicates,
establishing clear and measurable learning
objectives are critical to effectively
measuring results. At MindCrossings, the
testing phase includes three distinct areas:
- Internal Quality Assurance (QA) - after
production and before delivery to you, the
entire course is tested against the
storyboard, MindCrossings standards, and
client course requirements. Our testers use
test scripts and a quality assurance process
to identify any bugs and developers repair
the bugs as needed.
- Client Review and Acceptance - After
delivery, you complete a final review by
testing the entire course. If you uncover
any additional bugs, the bugs will be fixed
by MindCrossings developers and the revised
course will be returned to you for sign-off.
Course Evaluation - MindCrossings leverages
Donald Kirkpatrick's four levels of
evaluation to measure and assess the
effectiveness of the course. MindCrossings’
project managers work with client sponsors
and your Subject Matter Experts (SMEs) to
determine the level of evaluation required
for each project, using the following
guidelines from Kirkpatrick:
- Level 1 - Reactions
Student evaluations track the initial
reaction to the learning.
- Level 2 - Learning
Pre-tests and post-tests extend the
evaluation past learner satisfaction to
assess the skills, knowledge, and attitudes
learned.
- Level 3 - Transfer
This level measures the transfer of
knowledge or change that has occurred in
learners' behavior due to the training
program.
- Level 4 - Results
Level four evaluation assesses training in
terms of economic business results, commonly
referred to as Return on Investment (ROI).
Together, we can make your business
smarter. Now.
